Chari Smith & Naama Friedman
Chari Smith (she/her) fell in love with the piano at a young age, striking a deal with her teacher to learn one rock song for every required classical piece. Songwriting became her passion, leading to original musicals alongside playing everything from jazz standards to sing-along favorites. She’s also the author of the children’s book The Piano, inspired by her own belief that the magic of playing is all about joy and connection.
Naama Friedman (they/them) is a musician, vocalist, songwriter, and collaborator who grew up in the performing arts. They have been studying piano and performing for over twenty years, and through that they got into singing, then composition. Naama is especially interested in telling stories through song beyond just words and has written three full length musicals exploring this concept.

Story & Tune
Aussie/Americana duo Story & Tune are a blend of Woody Guthrie’s commitment to a better world with the rise and fall drama of a ballad by The Civil Wars. Whether they are sharing unforgettable modern folk originals about ghosts, good boundaries, and hard goodbyes, or leading a bar sing-along of your favorite cover tunes, you won’t leave a Story & Tune show without feeling a little seen, a little celebrated, and a little more hopeful than you did before you came.

Megan Diana
Her first instrument was piano - growing up, her grandmother's piano had pride of place in the living room and you couldn’t get her off it - Nowadays she is a composer, songmaker, touring artist with her own music and other acclaimed groups from Portland and beyond. But most importantly, she loves how music AND THE PIANO bring people TOGETHER.
It's Free and open to all - Bring your own picnic, or preorder a delicious picnic dinner here.

Myles Debski (our singalong!)
Myles Debski has played piano since age 5 and loved Disney songs even longer. After living in NH, CA, TX and even Mexico - he’s now made Portland his home for the last 5 years. He loves basketball, soccer, drag, coffee, and gathering his kids and friends around the piano for singalongs.
It's Free and open to all - Bring your own picnic, or preorder a delicious picnic dinner here.

Jackson Grace
Jackson is a junior at the University of Denver studying music and mechanical engineering. Since he was seven he became fascinated with the piano, starting with classical and gradually shifting over to Jazz. Piano Push Play gave Jackson a very special way to share this music over the summers growing up! Nowadays he is developing his own style of composition and piano improvisation from the influences of movie soundtracks, pop, and more. He is also aiming to engineer and design roller coasters later on (hence the engineering degree) and is currently a ride inspector at Oaks Park!
It's Free and open to all - Bring your own picnic, or preorder a delicious picnic dinner here.

About The Piano:
The friendly piano is thrilled when a young musician named Katie first presses its keys. As Katie and the piano become daily companions, her musical skills grow and grow. Together they play beautiful music to match her every mood. But when Katie moves away for college, the piano is left behind, untouched and silent. What happens next helps the piano-and young readers-see learning as a never-ending cycle and music as a life-long source of joy.
