Elisabeth Adkins

Artist Bio

Elisabeth is a self taught line artist. Inspired by the soft edges of the female body and florals. Her long smooth lines are distinguishable as they delicately draw the eye from one end of a painting to the other. But her earlier works could be described as edgy - created using prints of breasts which became a successful non-profit raising over $40,000 for breast cancer research. With a background in marketing, Elisabeth always finds a way to use her knowledge to connect art with community. Nurturing a culture of appreciation for the arts and the people that surround it. Since moving to Portland in 2021 Elisabeth has been working on breaking through as a mural artist and has been successful in painting the walls of an elementary school and in her most recent project a vibrant literacy lounge pioneered by Literacy Lady PDX. Connecting with her community is Elisabeth's life joy along with showing her young children the boundless beauty that art and culture provide.

Piano: “Tiny Speck”

Tiny Speck was created with my belief that all creatures, creations, joy seekers and providers are all just tiny specks in this expansive universe. When we think of ourselves as tiny specks in Mother Earth’s ecosystem we can either deny or adopt the opportunity we have to give off positive or negative energies. This particular tiny speck was created with abundant joy and hope. Thus inviting energies that are sure to create a ripple effect of more happy tiny specks. I like to imagine looking down at earth from space and seeing all of us tiny specks giving off joyful energy, getting tangled in others joy, crossing some dark paths and brightening others.

With the use of a muted vintage circus color palette combined with the soft symmetry of folk florals, Tiny Speck provides a whimsical experience to the onlooker. My hope is that Tiny Speck can bring out the wholesome childlike goodness in all that crosses it's path.
