"Idil" — by designer: Julz Nally
Portland Art Museum
We rescue pianos and put them on the street for everybody to enjoy. We want to give pianists more opportunities to play for the public.
Painting a piano for Piano. Push. Play. is a dream come true. As I started thinking about ideas of how to bring this piano back to life, I thought of all of the people that would sit down to play music and was inspired by that feeling that music brings. Music has a way of connecting us. It is full of energy, love & life. It's pure magic!
Common themes in my work are messages of hope, love and connection. I am inspired by rainbows, nature, & simple beauty in the everyday. I hope that finding this piano out in the community brings a smile and a little bit of joy to your day.
Julz Nally is an artist & illustrator living out her dreams in Portland, Oregon. Her colorful paintings & illustrations are full of whimsical characters and sincere messages to inspire peace, creativity, and teaching moments.
A few of her favorite things have always been creating, crafting, rainbows & finding simple beauty in the everyday. She has worked as a graphic designer in print & apparel, an art director in advertising, and created her own line of products.
Since becoming a mama, she has tried to teach her daughter about sharing kindness with the world, appreciating art and looking for the good. Julz realized that many of these teaching opportunities were her favorite parts of the day, which is why she now dedicates her life to creating and connecting with others through art. This summer she'll be hosting a summer camp called Hummingbird Art Camp.
Julz Nally’s artwork has been featured in local coffee shops, packaging products, and on seed packet surprises in kid’s meals at Burgerville restaurants.
